Students with no prior knowledge of a language (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) may register for the ab initio language modules; any student who has studied a language before should consult the language teaching staff to ensure that they are placed in the correct level.
Please be aware, not all modules are available to all students: consult your degree regulations for information on the options open within your degree programme. You can do this using the Programme Regulations Finder
You must be signed into MUSE to access it.
Native speakers are not eligible to study a language that is their mother tongue.
Details relating to module add/drop can be found here.

Programme Level Assessments (Autumn and Spring)
The PLA is a significant piece of work, so you should start working on it early. There are two PLA submissions per academic year, in both the Autumn and Spring semesters (part-time students will complete one PLA per year of study) . If you are enrolled on a SEAS module in one or both semesters, then you will be required to complete and submit one PLA per semester you are enrolled. Each submission is weighted at 25% per semester. The rest of your grade for the semester will be based on your Module Level Assessments (MLA) which are weighted at 75% of your grade.
Details of the PLA will be released after teaching starts.
