A longstanding architecture design studio, part of the MArch course at Sheffield School of Architecture and Landscape. Studio in Residence students work 'in residence' in the City Centre, using the Live Works Urban Room as their base.
Led by Carolyn Butterworth (architect, senior university teacher and Director of Live Works) from 2014 to 2026, the studio brought the work of over 140 students into the City Centre as part of an iterative process of socio-spatial re-imagination. A key focus of this work was around Castlegate, with student projects feeding directly into the regeneration process in the area.
