What We Do

Live Works operates in three core areas:

Urban Room

We host a programme of exhibitions and events in our city centre ‘Urban Room’ to develop knowledge and foster debate about the future of the built environment in Sheffield. The Urban Room is also a learning space where teachers and students develop architecture projects, often in collaboration with community partners – with the city, for the city and in the city.

Project Office

Our project office works with community clients to deliver strategic and detailed designs that foster better relationships between people and their built environment. The projects range from participation toolkits, websites, feasibility studies, detailed architectural design and small-scale architectural installations.

Co-Research

We carry out research in collaboration with community groups and our academic partners. Our research work aims to contribute to global discourse on topics such as local resilience, sustainable regeneration, creative community engagement and co-design.
