Leveraging the technologies in synthetic biology and our experience in enzyme and strain engineering, we engineer fit-for-purpose biocatalysts for sustainable industrial bioprocesses. Our research interests include production of bioplastics [e.g., polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA)], enzymatic recycling of plastics, bacterial protein secretion and engineering proteins for manufacturing of bioenergy, food and feed, detergent and personal care.
