Luke is a final year MEng Materials Science and Engineering student, who has worked in complex alloy design and manufacturing.
His project aims to explore a system of rare-earth free magnetic materials designed using machine learning, in partnership with MatNex. He aims to do this while optimising systems and processes to accelerate the development of sustainable magnetic materials.
Supervisor: Professor Kathy Christofidou
After three years in the university’s rocketry team, Project Sunride, Emma is now focusing on the final year of her MEng General Engineering (Materials) course, working with the IDEA group and The Exploration Company for her Masters project.
This project seeks to develop and characterize new Cu–Ni alloy compositions optimized for the additive manufacturing of rocket turbomachinery components with oxygen-rich operating conditions.
