Every year from mid September to mid November Hedgehog Friendly Campus challenges all its member institutions - from schools to universities - to pick as much litter as possible. A little friendly competition helps to pick more litter, which results in safer places for our wildlife, and for us as a result too!
All together, 55 of us took part and picked 26 bags; I'm very proud of that achievement, especially since this was over 6 short sessions of about half an hour. Which goes to show that little actions we take do make a big difference! And of course, our efforts here in Sheffield added to the national effort across campuses and in total an amazing 1,120 students, staff, and members of the public came together to collect over 576.5 bags of litter. That's huge!
