PEAS 1 take place in Phase 2b. The overall focus for LICP1 is Clinical Reasoning.
Student selected patient cases align to the following weekly themes:
Confusion
Fever
Pain
Falls & frailty
Abdominal symptoms
Breathing Difficulties
Communication Skills.

PEAS 2&3 take place in the first part of Phase 4. The overall focus is on Advanced Person-centred Clinical Reasoning.
These sessions will allow small groups of students to debrief their own patient cases and reflect on significant experiences encountered on placement. The themes will revisit the same six broad clinical areas as in LICP 1, but now with an advanced focus around the following:
Complex and atypical patient presentations
Advanced person-centred care
Undertaking shared decision making discussions with patients
Models of clinical reasoning
Probability of diagnoses and further assessment
Cognitive biases in decision making
PEAs 4 are designed to support the transition from medical student to FY1 doctor. These sessions provide a structured space for debriefing experiences, discussing challenges, and developing key professional skills needed to thrive in the NHS.
