The Academic Primary Care Education team focuses on helping students develop their understanding and skills in patient-centred, evidence-based primary medical care. We recognise how generalist expertise is critical to supporting our students develop GMC outcomes for medical graduates and look to augment the MBChB teaching from across the programme with experiential learning in general practice settings.
We are determined that Sheffield graduates build a strong understanding of health and health-care beyond the biomedical paradigm and the importance of patient narrative alongside pathophysiology.
We support the Medical School’s position as a socially accountable organisation. We emphasise the importance of delivering equitable access to care for all patients and communities including those with high levels of multimorbidity, particularly where there is greater difficulty accessing care.
The GP Tutor Site is simple platform for GPs in the region to use to connect to us and access the resources needed to teach our medical students for each phase of the medical undergraduate curriculum. Please note that some of the resources on this site will only become available when you join our teaching team.
We are now actively recruiting additional practices and tutors to join our growing community so please get in touch to find out more.
