Medics Mentoring Programme Applications are now open for 2024/25 Year 12 Students!
Opportunity for Year 12 Inspiring Medics students from a Widening Participation background to gain insights and experiences about Medicine and plan your journey as a future doctor.
DEADLINE for application submission: 5pm Monday 7th October 2024.
The University of Sheffield's Medical School will be delivering its annual Medics Mentoring Programme (hybrid) to inspire Year 12 Widening Participation students from South Yorkshire to become future doctors.
The workshop will be led by local GP doctors and the Medical School’s Widening Participation Team. The Programme will be a combination of virtual and in-person activities at the Medical School and GP Primary Care Centres.
Medics Mentoring programme offers aspiring medics an exciting and unique opportunity to develop an understanding of a doctors' role, the work of the Primary Care Medical Team, what makes a good doctor, medical ethics and importance of patient care.
Students will receive information and insights needed to begin and plan their journey as future doctor.

3. 'Observe GP' & Reflection Workshop 2

4. GP Two-Day Placement
Date: November to December 2024 (In Person)
*ONLY available to students who successfully participate in workshop 1 and 2).
5. Post-GP Placement Reflection Workshop 3
Date: Tuesday 11th February (In Person)
6. Admissions Interview Preparation Workshop 4
Date: Tuesday 25th March, 3pm - 5pm (Virtual)
