This gathering is part of a university-wide ECR-PGR-led activity, proposed by Stephen Opeyemi Aderinto, a PhD student from the Department of Chemistry, who was awarded a small grant to initiate these activities. Stephen is passionate and enthusiastic about reshaping the scientific destiny of his home country, where research capacity is still drastically low.
We are particularly interested in getting researchers to consider how science in developing parts of the world could be redefined/improved.
The intention is that such network will get researchers to meet on a regular basis with regular inputs from experts (e.g. webinars from African researchers who have established themselves upon returning in their countries, organisations that funds collaborative research with developing countries, etc).
Each meeting will provide time for inputs and social group discussion.
This meeting is your opportunity to be part of shaping the focus and programme of such network.
