We encourage you to read the information across each page of this site carefully, as it outlines the distinctive features of this PhD programme, our entry requirements, and the materials you will need to include in your application. All studentships are available on a full-time or part-time basis. Part-time study is only available on a 50% of full-time basis.
Each studentship will provide funding for four years, including:
Full home tuition fees
A stipend at the standard UKRI rates
A Research Training and Support Grant of £2,400
The timeline for applications and selection is below:
Applications open: 1st June 2026
Pre-application webinar: Wednesday 17th June, 13:00-14:00
Applications close: 13th July 2026
Applicants informed whether they have been selected for interview: By 27th July 2026
Interviews held: Week of 3rd August 2026
All applicants informed of outcome: By 25th August 2026
Start date of studentships: January 2027
Please note that the start date for studentships is fixed as all students must start at the same time to allow them to work together as a cohort during the first six months of the programme
