The Faculty of Health appreciates the outstanding contributions that contract research staff make to the Faculty. In recognition of this, we have an annual Early Career Researchers Prize Scheme. This Faculty award is given to recognise the contributions of contract research staff up to and including Grade 7 across the full-spectrum of activity in the Faculty of Health.
The remit of this prize is to reward excellence as an early career researcher in any of the four categories: Research, Teaching, Leadership and Wider Participation.
Up to four £500 prizes will be awarded for excellence in any of the four categories below. Applicants should not be constrained by the examples listed nor will they be required to excel in all four categories.
Contributions towards significant achievements and publications in your field
Development of new and innovative techniques and approaches
Grant income
Roles in patent development
Supervision of PGR students
Role in impact cases
Contributions to teaching or research project supervision
Supporting students
Assisting in developing the curriculum
Novel ways of delivering the curriculum
Engagement and contribution to the Faculty and the wider University above normal expectations
Roles in research collaborations
Fostering a supportive and collegial environment (e.g. researcher forums, away days, conferences)
Mentoring
Managing events (e.g. organising departmental seminars, inviting speakers)
Contributing to departmental administrative responsibilities
Promoting and supporting health and wellbeing
Roles in Knowledge Exchange (e.g. industrial partnerships, consultancy)
Media contributions
Public involvement, engagement or participation
Involvement with external organisations/bodies (e.g. outreach work)
