The FoH RSA has representatives that sit on committees at both the Faculty and University level. This enables us express our views as fixed term research staff.
All the committee members are approachable and keen to listen to you, so if you have any questions, if you need support, or if you have any concerns and would like to share ideas that could improve the ECR community, please contact us.

This Committee has the responsibility for implementing the Faculty of Health’s research, innovation, and related knowledge exchange strategy. FoH RSA representative ensures ECRs are considered and supported in implementation of FRIC strategies.

University Early Career Researcher Committee (UECRC):
University Early Career Researcher Committee (UECRC):
As the Faculty of Health representatives on the University Early Career Researcher Committee (UECRC), Alanna and Monika advocate for their community of ECRs at the University level. The UECRC contribute to initiatives to improve our ECR community and are a part of the Researcher Development Concordat. Recent activities include 1) enhancing Research Staff Induction, 2) ECR Reward and Recognition and 3) ECR-specific SRDS process.

Steering Board for Research Culture:
The Steering Board for Research Culture provides leadership and coordination for the development of institutional research culture, to achieve a shared understanding of the aspirational culture that we wish to promote across The University of Sheffield and a shared willingness to implement this.
As an ECR representative, Ameera seeks for ECR views for input to the steering group, share research culture aspirations with the wider community and ensure alignment of steering group outputs with local and institutional strategies and initiatives.

IAA Steering Group supports a wide range of impact activities across all University faculties and research portfolios, with a specific focus on the delivery of knowledge exchange and impact generation.
FoH Fellows' College:
FoH Fellows' College:
The Faculty of Health Fellow's College is currently developing a program that aims to provide mentorship and peer-to-peer support to all prospective fellows and fellows within the Faculty, particularly at transition phases of their career (from G7 to G8, or from G8 to G9). The Fellows' College also aims to campaign for consistency and clarity in career progression for fellows and other research-based PIs.
As ECR representatives, Raquel look forward to hearing our ideas, struggles, and ambitions, and to bring them to discussion at the committee.

This Committee carries out projects each year related to supporting ECRs within the FoH and also feeds in University wide projects to support ECRs.
