Are you from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background?
Are you in receipt of Disabled Students' Allowance?
Are you an Estranged student who has no relationship with, or support from, their parent or carer?
Have you been in care as a child looked-after for at least 13 weeks since the age of 14?
Are you from a military background, either yourself or your immediate family?
Have you been entitled to free school meals during your education?
Are you a parent of, or responsible for the care and wellbeing of, a child aged 17 or under?

Do you come from an area of disadvantage? You should live in a neighbourhood that is assessed as being in a lower quintile in the Government's Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD quintile of 1 or 2). You can check your area by searching for your postcode on our 2026 entry postcode checker.
*Students who are from neighbourhoods with low participation in higher education and first generation students, who began their studies in the previous academic year, are still eligible for Equal Opportunities support.
