The mission statement of the society is outlined as:
To act as a professional society for all early career researchers including post-docs and contract research staff, and for anyone interested in issues relating to the research environment and the career development of researchers.
To promote the interests of Engineering research staff within both the Faculty and the University of Sheffield.
To organise social & networking events to create a mutually beneficial network and community amongst research staff in the Faculty of Engineering.
To facilitate training and career development amongst Engineering research staff.
The Engineering Researcher Society is run as an open body for the benefit of research staff working within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sheffield. We will communicate events through our twitter feed, this website and the the engineering research staff email list.
