We work on key projects funded through major EPSRC-funded programs with industrial and international collaborations
Future Electrical Machines Manufacturing Hub (FEMHUB)
The Hub addresses key manufacturing challenges in the production of high integrity and high value electrical machines for the aerospace, energy, high value automotive and premium consumer sectors.
Digitally Enabled Circular Healthcare Innovation (DECHI)
The programme researches new digital approaches to expedite the adoption of circular innovation within the MedTech sector.
EPSRC Manufacturing Research Hub in Robotics, Automation & Smart Machine Enabled Sustainable Circular Manufacturing & Materials (RESCu-M2)
The vision of this hub is to pursue an integrated, holistic approach toward creating a new manufacturing ecosystem for circular resource use of high value products through advances in AI and intelligent automation, empowering the UK to be a world leader in circular manufacturing.
Robotic skill transfer and augmentation for contact-rich tasks in manufacturing (STAMAN)
STAMAN aims to create transferable and augmentable digital skills that will underpin the development of mass machine skills for future manufacturing, similar to how industrial robots have contributed to modern mass production.
Digital Innovation & Circular Economy (DICE N+)
The DICE Network+ is focused on two key challenge areas:
EMBED: Embedding sustainability and circularity within the design and development of digital and communication technologies.
ENABLE: Realising the potential of the digital revolution to enable a circular economy across sectors.
Recognising the wealth of ongoing activity, we take a network of networks approach, working to share understanding and build capability to enable our members to prioritise investment and circular economy adoption.
Digital Design Network Plus (D2N+)
Digital Design Network Plus is a 3 year EPSRC TERC funded project to create a vibrant design community, drawing from academia, end users, RTOs and solution providers from both within and beyond engineering.
Research Hub on Collaborative AI for Manufacturing Sustainability. (Co-Aims)
To unlock the transformative effect of AI and rapidly move manufacturing beyond NetZero, the hub will work with key industrial sectors including automotive, aerospace, clean energy, and food&drink to setup flagship test and demonstration ecosystems.
UK mission to ASEAN (UK-ASEAN)
The UK Mission to ASEAN aims to deepen our engagement with ASEAN, building on existing collaboration and exploring new ways to collaborate with the organisation and its member states.
LandONE: a £37.8 million Airbus & partners collaborative project to deliver a design solution for new lighter, lower maintenance and greener landing gear systems, using digital methods.
A £20.8 million Airbus & partners collaborative project using digital technologies to drive production efficiency, lower recurring costs and cycle times for wing manufacture.
