Hemp is a versatile plant cultivated primarily for its industrial applications, particularly its strong bast fibres, which are used to create a wide variety of products. It is one of the fastest-growing plants, requires minimal water to thrive, and is naturally resistant to many insect species, making it an environmentally friendly and sustainable crop.
Hemp fibre corrugated sheets provide a natural and eco-friendly alternative to traditional construction materials like iron, plastic, and aluminium. These sheets are produced using thermal compression, where non-woven hemp fibres are bonded with a resin derived from agricultural by-products such as corn cobs, oat hulls, and bagasse. This innovative process gives the sheets their distinctive reddish-brown colour, combining eco-friendliness with durability.
Hemp fibre corrugated sheets have versatile applications. They can be used externally as rain-screen cladding, internally as ceiling and wall linings, or for acoustic surface treatments.
Similar to timber, the sheets naturally lighten when exposed to direct sunlight, eventually blending back to their original straw-like tone, adding an organic and timeless aesthetic to any space.

With a cellulose content of 60-70%, hemp is an excellent substitute for plastic.
Can be recycled, reused or composted
Fire certification - BS EN 13501-1 to Class C/D, s2, D0
The material has a limited to moderate contribution to fire (C/D).
It produces a moderate amount of smoke during combustion (s2).
It does not release flaming droplets or particles (d0).
Manufacturing a square metre of corrugated hemp fibre sheet contains:
5.7 x less energy than aluminium
2.6 x less energy than bitumen plastic
1.5 x less energy than galvanised steel
The material can experience natural weathering (colour changes) if left untreated/unpainted and used as exterior cladding.
The material requires the building to have a waterproof skin if used as cladding, as the material is not a hard barrier against moisture. It however, comfortably absorbs and releases any moisture/rainwater.
