Low Impact Materials Archive

The Low Impact Materials Archive (LIMA) aims to introduce, normalise and promote the use of natural, recyclable and biodegradable materials in the building industry during the current climate emergency. This online resource provides digestible information on these materials’ uses, manufacture and properties, while also signposting to further reading and built examples.

LIMA is available as an exhibition of physical samples on floor 17 of the Arts Tower, providing students with an opportunity to directly handle the materials, and here, online on the BESCA website. Materials that are not available as a physical samples are stated on the material's webpage.
