Welcome Message from the Chief Executive and Principal

A big welcome to The Sheffield College! Whether you are starting with us this year or one of the many students returning to study with us again, we are delighted that you have chosen The Sheffield College . We will do everything that we can to support you to achieve your ambitions and help you go further in your career.

We want you to enjoy yourself, make new friends, work hard and get as much out of being part of our fantastic college community as possible. For example, you may choose to become involved in our Students’ Union or join a club or society, you may enrol on Enterprise Skills Academy or take part in skills competitions. Alternatively, you may want to be a student representative, feeding back the views of your friends and classmates at college to help us do even better on your behalf.

We are planning for your college experience and will use a blend of learning to provide an exciting and vibrant learning experience. We are proud of how our students and staff adapted and showed amazing resilience to achieve such a lot.

To be sure that you do get the most out of college, we would ask that you are:

Ready to learn - We have expert teaching and support staff ready to help you learn. However, you must be ready to learn and we expect you to engage in all of your sessions, whether they are online or at college in some of our fantastic academies.

Respectful - We are fortunate to have a vibrant and diverse college community, this diversity helps us to learn, so we expect you to be active in all aspects of your student life and respectful of other people

Safe - We expect to provide you with safe spaces to learn and we have an expert pastoral and safeguarding team who are there to support you. If, for any reason, you do not feel safe at college you must speak to your personal tutor who will help. Always let us know if you are struggling or having problems so we can help

Aspirational - We want you to aim high, know your targets and act on feedback on how to do better. Get involved and if you think we can do things better then let us know, so that we can learn and improve!

I wish you all the very best for your time with us at The Sheffield College and hope that you have an amazing year.
