Science

Year 7 Science introduces learners to scientific concepts and skills that link to a range of familiar and unfamiliar situations in everyday life. The emphasis is on hands on activities and the use of digital technology to enhance understanding of scientific phenomena. In Year 7 and 8 Science, there is a two year programme cycle with both classes studying the same topics at the same time in each year, which will allow for increased collaboration.

• Ecology: habitats, adaptations to the environment

• Interactive systems: weather, water and its impact on the environment

• Electricity: simple circuits, batteries and static electricity

• Investigating sound

• Science Badges - learners choose an area of Science they wish to study and complete activities to earn a badge
