The 5 Practices in Practice: Successfully Orchestrating Mathematical Discussions in Your Classroom
Facilitating productive discussions about mathematics is very challenging for any teacher. In this course we will study the practices outlines in the book The 5 Practices in Practice by Margaret (Peg) Smith, Victoria Bill and Miriam Gamoran Sherin to learn how to facilitate a purposeful and meaningful math discussion around engaging math tasks. Using the 5 Practices is a great way to engage ALL students and is highly beneficial for your students performing below grade level.

You'll also have time to ask questions and get support with current math struggles you're seeing in your students.

Coaches will support teams in utilizing student data to create instructional goals and to measure the impact of their growth. Time depends on the frequency the team can/wants to meet. One cycle is about 6 hours of in-person coaching time. More information on this flyer.
