Is your district ready to LEA Approve Fall 1?

Wait. Even if your district is error-free, it doesn't mean reports are accurate or include all students. This can make a big difference for your district's funding and future auditing, so it's important to ask the questions below before LEA Approving Fall 1 (view Fall 1 Roadmap).

1. Have all possible free and reduced meal applications or alternative income forms been collected? Districts have through this Friday, October 30, to collect and document free and reduced meal programs to qualify additional students. *Programs 181 and 182 are uploaded to CALPADS via the SPRG file.

2. Are any siblings of students on the Direct Certification not documented with free and reduced meal programs through "extended benefits"? *Siblings living in the same household automatically qualify, but must have a Program 181 or 182 uploaded into CALPADS to be counted.

3. Has all qualifying Direct Certification data been picked up by CALPADS? Direct certification results that come out in early November are counted toward Fall 1.

4. Have all EL reclassifications (based on 25-26 Summative ELPAC testing) been documented and uploaded with an effective date on or before census day? *Per CSIS, districts should not date reclassifications past census day to boost funding.

5. Have you cleared all concurrent enrollment (CCE) and Multiple Identifier (MID) anomalies to ensure only accurate information is certified? *Districts with 2% or more anomalies will be unable to certify.

6. Have all responsible staff (site data steward(s) and administrator) reviewed the certification reports - and if so, did they know what they were looking for?

7. Are all special education uploads complete, and have the corresponding reports been reviewed by at least the district's Special Education Director/Case Manager and the SELPA?

8. Do you know the correct steps to LEA Approve, and dissaprove/reapprove if necessary? This ensures the reports reviewed reflect the same data that is certified. *When in doubt, please reach out. We are always happy to walk you through the process.

When you answer Yes to all of these questions, you district is ready to LEA Approve Fall 1!

Mark your calendar! Fall 1 Milestones:

• November 20: Recommended Error-free Deadline  
  Districts need to have zero fatal errors by this date to be on track for the deadline.

• December 11: Initial Fall 1 Deadline
  SELPA Certification is recommended, but not required.

• December 12 - January 22: Amendment Window
  This is an opportunity to add or correct any missing or erroneous data.

• January 22: Final Fall 1 Deadline & SELPA Certification
