Reminders

With the new school year underway, it's essential to complete the following Fall 1 CALPADS tasks:

• Obtain SSIDs for students new to public school/charters in California (Reference)

• SENR - Upload the Student Enrollment file (Reference)

• SINF - Upload the Student Information file with key demographics, parent/guardian information (including their highest education level), address, etc. *Prevent errors by ensuring this information is complete prior to uploading. (Reference)

• SELA - Upload the Student English Language Acquisition file. *The timing of this is important for new students identified with a "TBD" language status (except TK), as districts have only 30 days to complete initial language assessment. Students only become available in the testing system (TOMS) 24+ hours after this file posts in CALPADS. (Reference)

• Up next: SPRG - upload the Student Programs file. *This file can wait until paperwork is received and SIS is updated documenting student programs such as free/reduced lunch, 504 Plans, homeless, etc. (Reference)

• Special Education files (via your district's special education data system): SWDS, MEET, PLAN and SERV *Refer to the Special Education Director or SELPA for questions related to these files.
