All students interested in becoming a member of NJHS must have an average of 93% or better in all major subjects with no grade being lower than an 85% in all subjects in order to apply as well as remain in Honor Socuety. As well as completing Community Service hours. Forms available under the "Community Service Forms" tab in the drop down menu above. Reminder: Grade averages are calculated by the district software and are not rounded up.
New Members:
Any 6th -8th graders may qualify if they meet the academic standard of High Honor roll for the first two trimesters of the 25-26 school year. Along with the application, students must complete 5 hours of Community Service and document them on the form provided with the application Applications are Due April 24, 2026. Applications will be reviewed and students will be notified by letter if they have been accepted. They will then be inducted in a ceremony May 2026.

The applications will be reviewed by the Faculty Council based on the requirements set forth by the National Junior Honor Society. Requirements for Admission
Current Members are required to complete 20 hours of Community Service hours and must maintain a 90% or better to remain in the program.
Mid-year Service Hours Due- December 19, 2025
Faculty will receive a list of qualifying students and make recommendations - May 1, 2026
Final Service Hours Due- April 24, 2026
Faculty Council will review the applications of new members- on May 4, 2026
New members will be notified by letter of their acceptance - May 8, 2026
There will be 2 Mandatory meetings for members. All meetings will be during the school day. Important information for our Induction/Recognition Ceremony will be shared.

Induction Ceremony: TBD Families are welcome to attend this ceremony. Letters will be sent home in May with more information about the ceremony.
