Reading Workshop this year will incorporate both large and small group models with a strong emphasis on independent reading and conferencing. We will use Teacher's College Units of Study in Reading as our guide for large group mini-lesson instruction. The main goal of our Reading Workshop is to get books in the hands of children! The mini-lessons will provide tools for students to use in order to elevate and enhance their reading level and experience. Students will be exposed to a variety of genres including, but not limited to, fiction, nonfiction, biographies, and argument texts. During reading time students will be reading independently as I conference with individuals or small groups about their books and the skills we are working to develop.

Interpretation Book Clubs: Analyzing Themes

User Guide for Author Study: Reading Like a Fan
