Plickers is a great option if you don’t have a classroom full of devices. It is a powerfully simple tool that lets teachers collect real-time formative assessment data without the need for student devices. Using your smartphone or ipad, you simply scan the classroom of students as they hold up their QR cards to display their answers to your questions.
Pros: Simple and easy to use with little technology needed. Quick response of student understanding. Sorts responses.
Cons: Some setup required. Must select card sets and print (laminate?) ahead of time. Use website to link student names to card numbers, and create questions.
