A: We think that membership in the council was limited to over 30 years old, they could make rash decisions which could end up affecting Ancient Athens. Also someone under the age of 30 could still be in school so won't they know all the laws and policies of Ancient Athens.

A: Limiting the amount of time a citizen can serve the council helps safeguard democracy because it gives other citizens a chance to participate in government. These new citizens have their own opinions and can help Ancient Athens to make a better city. Some pron;e,s that it might create are that if the a citizen with a bad reputation is chosen. It might destroy Ancient Athens's society. Also, if the old government was in the middle of a project then a new government was formed, then they could change the project for the worse or even wreck it.

1. Q: Why do you think Athenian jurors were chosen on the day of the trial?
A: We think Athenian jurors were chosen on the day because then the defendant or plaintiff could bribe or try to persuade the jury.
2. Q: Do you think it would be better to go to trial in Ancient Athens or in Canada today? Explain your thinking.
A: I think it is better to take a trial in Canada because then in Athens there are no lawyers that speak for you and persuade the jury. in Canada there is more democracy because there is a judge who makes the final decision and the punishment from a book, there is also no death penalty. but the jury in Athens are different, who could be helping one side or another.
