About the Program
Every intern works on their own projects with support from internship mentors; projects are based on the interests of the intern
All interns receive a staff mentor, regularly meet with an Internship Supervisor, and attend weekly intern meetings
Summer 2021 positions include Teen Programs (Education) Intern, Collections Intern, Corporate Membership Intern, and Pitch Your Own Graphic Design Intern
All opportunities are paid ($15/hr) and open for undergraduates, graduates, and recent grads
All opportunities are remote; Collections Intern will have a chance to work on site if desired

Both independent and a strong collaborator

Brooklyn Navy Yard
About the Program
Serves both industry-aligned and exploring students
Program connects college-attending or college-bound students to work opportunities with businesses within the Brooklyn Navy Yard
8 week, paid, full-time program
Program begins in late June and ends in August and is primarily remote; but in-person or mixed internships are also available
Ideal Candidate
High number of businesses within the Brooklyn Navy Yard look for students who are familiar with social media management, adobe photoshop, and customer service among other skills.
Eligibility
Must be a Brooklyn resident or attend a Brooklyn-based college
Must be a college-bound or college-attending student
A first-time or once returning participant in the internship program

· Application deadline for Summer Internship is Friday, March12th but apply as soon as possible; the program is on a first come first serve basis

Law, Government and Non-Profit
Natural Areas of Conservancy
About the Program
Paid, 8 week summer program (35 hours per week) for CUNY students and recent graduates
Summer program runs from June to August; Fall & Spring internships also available for 12 weeks, 10-14 hours per week
Partially remote (CUNY requires further documentation)
Trains future leaders in environmental conservation and urban ecology
Informs NYC Parks restoration and conservation work through ecological assessments, freshwater wetland mapping, and habitat monitoring
Trains students in various technical skills such as data management, data visualization, geographic information systems, etc.
Provides professional development opportunities through guest lectures and networking events
Ideal Candidate
Passion for studying and improving conditions of local ecosystems
Demonstrated interest through coursework, volunteering, etc
Ability to think critically and act at different scales
Commitment to working collaboratively, sharking knowledge and ideas, and actively participating in activities offered through internship program
Ability to convey how participating in the program will contribute to professional and personal development within the environmental field
Interest in biology, environmental science, urban sustainability, sociology, environment/civil engineering
Eligibility
CUNY undergraduate students, grad students, or recent graduates of any school
Open to any major or degree program

Hope Reichbach
About the Program
Provides vital learning experiences and career development for students
Most likely will be remote; students will receive $525 per week of full time work and in total $5250 for a 10-week long duration.
Matches students with organizations such as Uprose, Vocal NYC, Bed-Stuy Restoration, Brooklyn Community Services, Brooklyn Defender Services, and more.
Ideal Candidate
Demonstrates an interest in social justice
Passionate and enthusiastic
Looking for a future in civic leadership in the nonprofit sector
Eligibility
Must be a freshman, sophomore, or junior currently enrolled in school
Must be a NYC resident during the summer

Come to the Personal Statement workshop for students across All Majors! The information session will offer students great strategies and techniques on writing personal statements, scholarship applications, etc.! There will also be a brief presentation about scholarship programs.
