Lightbox is an engaging collection of interactive, online nonfiction titles and resources that captivate reader interest with a combination of text and curated digital features. It provides digital books with audio narration, videos, weblinks, quizzes, activities, maps, and infographics.
ABDO Reference Online is a digital bookshelf of 77 reference e-book titles including encyclopedias, field guides, and early encyclopedias for beginning readers. Titles include high-interest topics such as sports, animals, pets, and even Taylor Swift 😉 These can be accessed by multiple students at one time with one click easy access in ClassLink (no sign-in required).
PebbleGo is packed with informational articles, ready-made activities, and literacy supports for students of all abilities. There are over 1600 articles covering five subject areas: animals, science, health, social studies, and biographies. No matter the subject you're teaching or the unique needs and interests of your students, PebbleGo has you covered.
Complete with scaffolding to support differentiated instruction, engaging multimedia within each article to maximize comprehension, and interactive lessons, activities, and games to reinforce learning, PebbleGo is a go-to resource for introducing research concepts and supporting the curriculum.

When you log into PebbleGo, there is also a tab to access our Capstone Interactive E-Book collection. These books can be launched with one-click and have multi-user and simultaneous access. They also include read aloud audio for every book which helps engage students and provides evidence-based scaffolding for pre-readers, struggling readers, English language learners, and more.

Epic! is a kids subscription-based reading and learning platform. It offers access to over 40,000 digital books and videos for children ages 12 and under and can be accessed on mobile or desktop devices. Books are available in read-to-me and audiobook formats and include both non-fiction and fiction titles The Epic! app offers personalized recommendations based on a child's reading level and interest. Users can search for books, videos and quizzes on Epic! based on age, keyword and reading levels.
Epic is free to access during the school day. Parents can pay for a monthly subscription for their children to access at home after school hours.
Students can log in during the school day by following these steps:
1) Go to www.getepic.com
2) Click on "I'm a kid"
3) Click on "School"
4) Enter the class code vxt6210
5) Click on your grade level or "guest"
6) Start exploring and reading!
TexQuest is a statewide digital resources program in Texas that provides K-12 public schools and charter schools with 24/7 access to curated, authoritative online databases, encyclopedias, eBooks, and multimedia.
It can be accessed through Classlink or by going to https://kids.texquest.net/. Search for Shallowater ISD in the drop down menu of schools and then our password is 'learn.'
TexQuest includes access to NatGeo Kids, Encyclopedia Brittanica and much more! This is a great resource for introducing kids to research.
