I Come as One: Stories of Unconquerable Single Black Parents is on view at the Shaker Historical Society from October 1 - December 12, 2021. This exhibit was organized by Kim Harris of Shaker African American Mothers Support (S.A.M.S.) with support from Ali Black, poet and Community Engagement Specialist at the Shaker Heights Public Library, and Friends of the Shaker Library. We would like to thank the unconquerable parents who shared their powerful stories through this project, Ashley Taylor for the beautiful portraits, and all the artists who contributed to the exhibit.

T​he mission of Shaker African American Moms Support is to provide support to African American Mothers. S.A.M.S enriches families through strengthening knowledge of resources and providing a sense of community and a feeling of fellowship with others.
