Show Good Sportsmanship and Positive Attitudes:
Students are expected to maintain a positive attitude during all units and demonstrate good sportsmanship. Winning is not the main focus in class, and it will not affect the overall experience. It’s important for students to include every classmate and ensure that everyone is involved, regardless of skill level.
Listen to the Rules and Directions:
When the teacher is explaining a skill or game, students are expected to be quiet and attentive. After entering the gym and finding their assigned PE spot, students will be expected to listen carefully to instructions. Following the explanation, students should be ready to begin the activity, understanding the rules and how to play correctly.
Wear Appropriate Attire to Class:
Proper attire is required for participation in Physical Education, including tennis shoes, a suitable t-shirt, and no jewelry. Boots, belts, or inappropriate clothing will not be allowed. If a student is not dressed appropriately following our SGM Handbook, a parent may be contacted to ensure proper attire for the next class.
No Negative Behavior or Put-Downs:
Positive behavior is essential, and no making fun of, putting down, or negative talk will be tolerated. Every student is here to learn and support one another, fostering a positive and inclusive environment. Be supportive of peers as everyone is learning and improving together.
Respect for Equipment:
All equipment, whether donated or purchased, must be treated with care. Students are expected to use equipment properly during games and activities. If a student intentionally breaks equipment, parents will be contacted and may be asked to replace it.
Engage and Participate:
Participation is a major part of the grade. Every student is expected to make an effort in all activities and help their team. Standing aside or showing a negative attitude will affect grades.
