September Athletes of the Month
Rowen Constantino, an 8th grader and captain of the modified girls soccer team. Rowen leads by example, consistently showing strong leadership and great sportsmanship on and off the field. So far this season, she’s tallied 6 goals and 2 assists, making a big impact for her team. Keep up the great work, Rowen!
Tyler Misiewicz is an 8th grader on the cross country team who is currently undefeated this season! Tyler has taken the individual win for the boys team in the first two league meets AND the first two invitationals. At the Broadalbin Invitational, he achieved the 5th fastest course time on record for modified runners! His outstanding efforts have played a big role in the team’s winning season so far. Way to go, Tyler!
This month, we’re proud to recognize Catie Loveland, senior cheerleader and team captain, as our September Athlete of the Month. Catie consistently shows up to practice ready to lead, motivates her teammates, sets a strong example both on and off the field, and excels in the classroom. Her dedication, leadership, and positive attitude make her an invaluable part of the cheer team. Congratulations, Catie!
Also being recognized as Athlete of the Month is Justin Goddin, a standout sophomore on the varsity golf team. Justin has qualified for Sectionals in 8 of his matches this season and is averaging just 4 over par. He’s currently ranked in the top 8 of the Foothills League and will represent the Scotia-Glenville team in their Sectional match next week. Great job, Justin, and good luck at Sectionals!
May Athletes of the Month
Megan Darling is a key player on our modified girls lacrosse team, known for her leadership on defense and her positive influence as a role model. Her willingness to try different field positions shows her versatility and coachability, making her an invaluable team member. Megan is a well-rounded student-athlete, earning High Honors all year while excelling on the field.

Declan Sweeney is a standout lacrosse player, making a strong impact on both offense and defense. He leads by example, brings energy to every practice, and is a supportive, motivating teammate on and off the field. In addition to his athletic achievements, Declan is also a High Honors student, exemplifying excellence in both academics and athletics.

Our female Athlete of the Month for May is Emily Heiner! Emily had an outstanding track season, playing a key role in her team’s success. At Foothills Championships, she won the 100m, and anchored the 4x100 relay to a 1st place finish, helping secure the overall team title. She continued her strong performance at Sectionals and also led the 4x100 team to a State Super Standard at the prestigious Eddy Meet, automatically qualifying the relay team for States. A standout on the track and a High Honor Roll student, Emily exemplifies leadership, dedication, and excellence. Way to go, Emily!
Congratulations to Nick Lemp, our male athlete of the month, for the month of May. Nick wrapped up an outstanding season with an incredible 67 goals and 23 assists, totaling 90 points — breaking the school’s single-season records for both goals and total points. A true student-athlete, he has also earned Honor Roll recognition every quarter this school year, demonstrating excellence both on the field and in the classroom. Nice work, Nick!
April Athletes of the Month
Julia Penn is a High Honors student and an exemplary athlete, and the team captain. Assistant coach Warnock says “Julia came out firing this month for the modified softball team! Pitching 2 games, that have collected her 22 strikeouts, and led the team to its first victory of the season.”
Luke Battaglia is a starter on our modified team, is a lead off hitter, and starting second baseman. When it comes to fielding and defense, he does a great job of communicating with his teammates.
Not only is Luke a hard worker on the field, but he also excels academically, earning a place on High Honor Roll.
The athletics department is proud to announce that Keeley Kristel is our female athlete of the month, for the month of April. Keeley is a senior on our softball team, and a force to be reckoned with on the field. She has excelled both as a dominant pitcher, and is a powerful presence at the plate. Keeley is a true leader and competitor; and a dedicated student athlete - earning a place on High Honor Roll all year. Congratulations Keeley!
Aleksey Falcon is a standout in both the 400 meter hurdles, and the long jump where he is ranked in the top 15 in New York State; and is also only 4 inches from breaking the school record. His hard work, dedication and elite performances make him a true example of an excellent athlete. He does this, while maintaining a place on Honor Roll. Way to go, Aleksey!
March Athletes of the Month
Sarina Prusinowski brought the most positive energy to her team! She always has a smile on her face, and shows kindness to everyone around her. Along with her positive personality, she put forth her best effort at every game and strived to do her best!
Amaya Magiera has shown tremendous growth in the unified bowling program over the last three seasons. Her perseverance truly shined this season as she was committed to bowling her best! Along with her performance, she brought a positive attitude each game.
Tyler Hamm is a junior on the team. His scores, effort, and determination to excel made a huge impact throughout the season. Tyler shows respect and kindness to his coaches, teachers and peers. Along with his contributions to the team, he is a great student in the classroom earning a place on High Honor Roll.
Manny Hempstead has been a part of the unified bowling team for a few seasons. He was one of the most consistent bowlers this year from game to game, getting some of his all time highest scores! Manny also bowled on his own outside of school which contributed to the impact he made on the bowling team this season!
February Athletes of the Month
Kendall Hilt is our female athlete of the month here at the Middle School. She is a 7th grader, and first year wrestler on the modified wrestling team. Right from the start, Kendall found great success, winning her very first match! Coach Striffler quotes Kendall as “giving 110% outstanding effort, and did not miss one single practice.” Great job, Kendall. Congratulations.
Our male Middle School Athlete of the Month for the month of February, is Mason Arket. Mason is the epitome of a Tartan student-athlete. He was a starter on the boys 8th grade basketball team, a key contributor to the team, a terrific teammate, and displayed tremendous sportsmanship. Mason gives 100% on and off the court; excelling in the classroom, and maintaining a 97 average. Way to go, Mason!
Haley Proulx is our female athlete of the month for February. Haley is a Freshman on the varsity girls wrestling team. She has worked hard all season and it has paid off! Haley placed third in her weight class at Sectionals sending her to the VERY FIRST New York State Championships for girls wrestling! Congratulations Haley!
Phoenix Cellini is our male athlete of the month for February. Phoenix is a Junior, and a thrower on the Varsity Boys Indoor Track Field team. He scored big for Scotia this season, placing 3rd in Foothills Championships and 2nd at Sectionals! He has improved his throw throughout the season by 6 feet, and is now only 5 inches away from the state qualifying standard! Phoenix is a dedicated athlete, who competes to win. Congratulations Phoenix!
January Athletes of the Month
Eighth grader Anne Bednarek has been a standout leader for the girls modified Nordic ski team since the start of her seventh-grade year.
She remains undefeated in Section 2, securing individual victories at every Invitational she participated in this season. Her dedication has propelled the Tartan Nordic team to achieve the highest number of second place finishes among Section 2 teams in recent history.
Additionally, Anne excels in academics, maintaining an impressive 98 average.
Evan Leon plays on the seventh-grade boys modified basketball team and has made significant contributions throughout January.
He averages approximately 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals per game!
Evan leads by example and demonstrates a strong work ethic as a student-athlete both on and off the court, achieving a 95 average.
Lillian Steward is a junior and a thrower on the indoor track and field team. She is a hardworking and dedicated athlete who recently set a new school record in the weight throw, achieving an impressive distance of 37’ 11.5”! This remarkable achievement highlights her exceptional talent and commitment to the sport. Lillian consistently qualifies for the State Meet in both the weight throw and shot put, serving as a motivating leader for her teammates. Alongside her athletic accomplishments, Lillian is also focused on her academic objectives, maintaining an impressive 94 average that reflects her success as a student-athlete
Logan Linck is a senior on the Nordic boys ski team, where he has consistently taken the lead throughout the season. Recently, he achieved an impressive 6th place overall at the Saratoga/Shenendehowa Invitational, helping the team secure its first 3rd place finish of the year and establishing himself among the top skiers in Section 2. Since joining the Nordic Ski Team in 7th grade, Logan has been instrumental to the team’s achievements. His exceptional work ethic has allowed him to rise as a leader and role model for his teammates, both during training and competitions, as well as in the classroom, where he proudly maintains a 98 average.
