Mission: Thurgood Marshall Academic High School Counseling team works comprehensively to advocate, collaborate, and facilitate individual and systemic change to ensure every student has the knowledge and skills necessary for academic success and personal growth. School counselors advocate for equity and access and provide consistent services to maximize all students potential and academic achievement. We also provide direct assistance to students with diverse learning needs, linguistic abilities, and experiences. School counselors strive to empower students to embrace their full potential and achieve their personal and academic aspirations.

Vision: The vision of Thurgood Marshall Academic High School’s Counseling team is to create strong and engaging connections with all students so they can gain academic knowledge, build intellectual and emotional intelligence, and develop confidence. Students will have graduated college and career ready and meet the challenges and high expectations of the 21st century. Thurgood Marshall believes in students that are evolving into their own identities and will receive an education that includes a large scope of opportunities to learn, grow, and attain success. We believe in a safe and respected environment where diversity is honored and appreciated. Students are valued and empowered to succeed on many levels, and encouraged to be lifelong learners and productive citizens in the global community.
