In accordance with Article 7 and Appendix B of the UESF Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement, a formal, written evaluation for every permanent unit member shall take place once each year. The purpose of the program of evaluation is to assess and to improve the performance of an individual unit member and thereby improve the quality of education and services for students.

When used meaningfully, the evaluation form is intended to support an employee and supervisor in documenting the quality of work performed by an employee, identifying areas for professional growth and future opportunity and alerting the employee to areas where their performance is unsatisfactory or is in need of improvement.
The HR department has been working closely with the classified unions to develop evaluation tools that benefit both the employee and supervisor. Not only are evaluations are an opportunity to provide meaningful feedback to employees, they are tools to support conversations around performance.
