Bay Area born and raised, CieraJevae is a spoken word artist, educator, and community builder dedicated to empowering voices and fostering cultural understanding through the arts. Her published works, including the poetry collection "Unto Ivy's Rib" and chapbooks "Testimonies of Richmond" and "Incarcerated Words," reflect her commitment to social justice and community empowerment.
CieraJevae's passion for education extends beyond the classroom. She has taught spoken word and Ethnic Studies workshops in various settings, from Contra Costa Juvenile Hall and Santa Cruz County Jail to organizations like Youth Speaks, RYSE, Camp Akili, and the NAACP, among others. She has worked with students of all ages, from as young as 6 years old to young adults up to 21. As the Spoken Arts Director at Ruth Asawa SOTA, CieraJevae continues to create spaces for young artists to explore their identities and share their stories.
Ms. Cici is also the Executive Director of Serving Melanin Collective which hosts a community group for Black and Brown girls called Melanin & Milkshakes. They meet weekly on Thursday's on campus.
