The Spoken Arts Department is building a partnership with Glen Park Library to host a series of readings, as well as host a National Poetry Month reading in April in collaboration with the Oakland Youth Poet Laureate. 

Every year seniors complete a senior thesis of their best work from over the 4 years of the program. City Lights has graciously hosted our Senior Reading for the past two years! 

Each year the Spoken Arts Department performs for Sunnyside Elementary to spark the minds of the younger generation. Selected students facilitate a workshop prior to help students write poems related to Black History Month. 

Spoken Arts seniors have the privilege to develop their facilitation skills by hosting weekly workshops with the APTOS students on Tuesday's during Art Block.
