HUMANIZING ORAL HISTORIES

Podcasts from SOTA Ethnic Studies 2020-21

This year, Ethnic Studies students interviewed a community member about a topic of their choice. Conversations addressed activism, immigration, teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic and more. Students then transformed the interviews into a podcast. They learned how to conduct an interview, synthesize information, and edit audio. However, the most valuable takeaway was the wisdom that their interviewees shared with them.

This oral history project was done in collaboration with SFUSD libraries, Soundtrap, and Voice of Witness.
