Athletic Attire
What is "athletic attire"? Athletic attire includes the following:
RMS Spiritwear T-shirt or RMS 5K Run shirts
Athletic bottoms - shorts, sweatpants, or leggings (blue, black, or gray) - NO JEANS
Athletic shoes (no boots, shoes with heels, open-toed shoes, sandals, or crocs)

A student is responsible for making up any work missed during absences. Class cuts will result in zero (0) points for the day.
Students with a medical excuse / restriction are to remain with their PE class and participate as fully as possible with modified activities.
The physical education academic grade is based on the SHAPE America National PE Standards:
Standard 1 - Develops a variety of movement skills
Standard 2 - Applies knowledge related to movement and fitness concepts
Standard 3 - Develops social skills through movement
Standard 4 - Develops personal skills, identifies personal benefits of movement and chooses to engage in physical activity.
Grading will be based on the following two (2) types of assignments:
Progress Check (5%) - do nows/warm ups, READY Rubric, exit tickets, homework, worksheets, self & peer assessments
Performance Task (95%) - Student progress is measured using a variety of assessment tools including but not limited to the following:
structured observations of performance tasks, written or oral tests, video submissions, fitness plans, Fit-Folio, 1.0 mile run assessment (monthly), and group projects.
During the school year, PE Teachers take their classes to Rossi Playground for physical education activities. All students must complete the Rossi Travel Agreement as a class expectation.
