Classroom Emergency Bucket Kits

GWHS Emergency Bucket Kit project

During the Spring of the 2017/2018 school year, the GWHS PTSA approved the spending budget to put Emergency bucket kits into every classroom and office at George Washington High School. The association also decided that it made sense to make the purchases and assemble the kits in the Fall of 2018. Once school began, the Board set out to procure all the supplies and the buckets and determine a workable assembly date and time.

We concluded that the best time would be during the GWHS Homecoming Dance which was held in the gymnasium on Friday, October 19th. Parents dropped their students off on 30th Avenue and came around to the front side on 32nd and met in the cafeteria. Together, we assembled 150 emergency bucket kits which were then distributed to faculty and staff at the next GWHS Staff meeting! Each bucket is stuffed with an emergency first aid kit, lighting, whistle, tourniquet, blanket, garbage/toilet bag and ~ best of all ~ topped with a lidded toilet seat!

A great BIG thank you to all our PTSA members for approving this expenditure and to all the volunteers who helped assemble the buckets!

A fun time was had by all!
