Beautification Day

Saturday, October 28th

The GWHS PTSA Beautification Crew arrived at 9am on a very foggy Saturday, October 28th in the Richmond District, for coffee and pastries at the Beacon Bungalow and proceeded to move as a group through different areas of the campus. Focusing mainly on the south side, we cleared trash from the corners of grounds and scoured around the yard between the side walk and the fence surrounding the school. Additionally, we swept and did some cursory weeding around the Beacon HQ and for most of us, it was a wonderful opportunity to see and better acquaint ourselves with the campus where our kids spend their days. It also gave us a number of ideas for future Beautification days, possibly as early as this winter and certainly this spring!

A big shout out to everyone - students and families - who came to support the District 1 clean up that for which Wash was the central gathering spot. Not only did we have our supervisor, Sandra Fewer, with us to say a few words to kick off this event, there were crews that came to pitch and and help from all the way across the City!
