Instrument Rental Info

All students at Ortiz Middle School will be able to rent an instrument through the school district. There is no rental fee for students to use this instrument for the year. However, if there are any damages to the instrument or the bow (broken strings, broken bridges, etc.) families are held responsible to pay for these damages.

It is an expectation that students who play violin and viola bring home their instrument to practice every night and return their instrument the next day for class. There is a storage closet in the orchestra classroom for students to keep their instruments when they are not in use.

Students who play cello and bass will have a home instrument that stays there and they will share a school cello or bass. Occasionally, these students will be asked to bring their home instruments to school for a performance.

The forms below are the forms required for students to bring instruments home. Without these forms signed and turned in, students will not be able to bring their instruments home.
