Week 8 (May 18-22)

Hi there, wonderful St. Francis kids! Your music teacher, Mr. Graham, here again. When you get a chance, listen to songs 26-27 below. Enjoy them.

Your Assignment: You have two letters to deal with (the songs). To be slightly challenging for you, for BOTH letters, name for me a place, a thing and a Bible character that begins with each letter! Just email me the answers! When you're done, you'll have six (6) things listed.

Week 7 (May 11-15)

Hi there, little ones! Your music teacher, Mr. Graham, here. When you get a chance, listen to songs 23-25 below. Enjoy them.

Your Assignment: Think about song 25. Is that you and your life? Do you do those things? Do you know that God loves you? He does, oh so much! Have a good week, and I'll talk to you later!

Week 6 (May 4 - 8)

Hi, boys and girls! Listen to songs 19-22 below. I hope you enjoy singing along. Remember that Jesus loves you and your parents love you, too!

Bible verse of the week for kids: (Colossians 3:20) Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

Boys and girls, God gave your parents everything they need to love you and take care of you. In everything that comes up in this life, they can help you. It makes God happy when you listen to them and do what they say. They truly know best. As you grow older, you will understand more. Take a few minutes and discuss this verse with your parents. You do not need to turn anything in for a grade this week. I've given you enough to do! But check back in next week for your next assignment!

Week 5 Assignment Question (due Friday, May 1st)

Hi, boys and girls! Take a look at the new songs at the bottom of this page (songs 16, 17 and 18). Play them, listen and sing along. What do you think the message is in the song Yes, I Can? Think about it for a little bit, maybe talk it over with your mom or dad, and then email me with your thoughts. Hope you enjoy singing and dancing along with Father Abraham!

Week 4 Assignment Question (due Friday, April 24th)

Boys and girls, I posted four new songs below. In song #14, God is So Good, it has 5 verses. The theme (or idea) of the 1st verse is "God is so good." What is the them (or idea) of the other 4 verses?

NO ASSIGNMENT --- week of 4-6 through 4-10-20

Our face-to-face classes are Monday afternoons. But since our On-Line assignments are usually due on Fridays and we have no school, virtual or otherwise on Thursday, Friday or next Monday due to Easter weekend, there will be no assignment due. Normal class day - Mondays: In the first half of each year, the primary focus for 2nd grade is to prepare them for the Christmas Pageant. In the second half of the school year, normally we would either play our recorders (child's version of a woodwind instrument) or sing songs they know and love, primarily kid's Christian songs, educational songs or just fun songs to sing or dance to. I know all the recorders are at school, so it's difficult to include that in our weekly music lesson, but I will share something simple, like finger-positioning for a C or D note or something like that. That way if you have a recorder at home, you can be learning. If not, it's OK. I won't grade anything in regards to recorders.

Weekly Assignment: I will post a few music videos of songs the kids know and love so they will have some sense of normalcy! I will add to the collection of songs each week as we move forward. For a weekly participation grade, I will just ask a simple question, nothing technical or difficult. Any response will garner a 100. Just let me know each week that your child watched the video (s). I care about your child's Spiritual growth, and their academic growth. Music is a beautiful way to suppliment what he or she learns in Religion class and other classes. I will try to find videos of the songs whenever possible. When I can't find a suitable video, I will share the audio files.
