The Seymour Middle School Debate team hosted CTMSDL's 2024 December tournament at Seymour High School. Volunteers sold and served lunch, guided middle schoolers to the correct classroom, helped clean up the cafeteria after lunch and helped rearrange classrooms. This event took place from 8:30am until 3:30 pm at Seymour high school and had a total of 10 volunteers from NHS and was ran very smoothly with the help of the volunteers!
The Seymour Middle School hosted a event in which kids from both the Elementary Schools and Middle School gathered in the Middle School cafeteria to make Gingerbread houses. The High Schoolers were offered to volunteer and dress up as characters like The Grinch, Olaf and a gingerbread men. This event was from 6:45- 7:45 and got 3 volunteers for the highschool. The kids were very excited and took many pictures with the characters.
The highschoolers were offered to sell snacks or charge admission at the SHS boys & girls basketball games. The students who did this were able to gain a max of 6 volunteer hours for NHS.
Our friend Wyatt held an inclusion walk up at the High School turf to raise awareness for inclusion in our community. There were numerous activities, companies, and people who came to volunteer and support his mission!
The Seymour High School Spanish club hosted a Multicultural festival at Chatfeild Lopresti Elementary School. People volunteered to paint faces, color with the kids, help set up and clean up the gym after the event was over. This event was a hudge sucess and many of the kids were excited when they saw all the highschoolers there coloring, dancing and talking with them. We had around 15 memebers for NHS volunteer and many of them got between 2-3 hours
NHS held their first annual blood drive where we collected about 16 pints of blood! It was held in the emdia center by the Red Cross where students volunteered throughout the day!
