Purpose
To successfully deliver training sessions to enhance player’s skills and guide the team on game days, ensuring the welfare of the players in your care.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for the role of Junior Team Coach include:
Deliver structured training sessions to enhance player’s football skills, encourage team cohesiveness and respect for members and the club
Lead the team on game days encouraging players to do their best whilst respecting team mates, the opposition and officials
Liaise with the team manager so that all team members, parents, and officials are informed of training, competition and club functions
As well as attend training and matches, coaches are encouraged to consider nominating the team for carnivals, if appropriate, as well attend team photos and junior presentation day at the end of the season
Coordinate return of equipment to appropriate storage area after training
Determine weekly awards
Support the team manager with your team on game days, addressing any member who is not upholding the Club ethos
Relationships
Reports to the President and Secretary
Supports the Team Manager and Committee
Liaise with players, parents and club supporters
Requirements
Must hold a current Working with Children Blue Card and register as a coach utilising both the Squadi and Play Football platforms
Must complete “Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction” online course available through the Sport Integrity Australia - Play By The Rules initiative
Must join both the SESFC Coaches & Managers and SESFC Parents & Players Private Facebook Groups
Shall undertake the appropriate Coaching Course for their age group by registering through the Football Australia Learning Centre etrainu - LMS | custom eLearning
Will familiarise yourself with the Squadi App in case match reports are required NOTE: MiniRoos Coaches are not responsible for submitting team sheets or entering match scores
Will wear the Club polo or colours when representing the Club
Will represent the Club in a professional manner
Will be passionate about the Club and Team
Can commit to 3 hours per week for training and matches during the duration of the season
