What is Dental Assisting?

Dental assistants are the backbone of the dental team. They support a dental operator in providing more efficient dental treatment. Dental assistants are distinguished from other groups of dental auxiliaries by differing training, roles and patient scopes.

Our Program

This program is designed to help educate students on the Dental field and provide them with the skills and knowledge needed to become a successful dental assistant and world class worker. Students will learn topics of basic dental sciences, preclinical dental skills, clinical dental procedures, dental radiography, dental specialties, restorative and laboratory materials and techniques, and dental practice management. As well students will learn important career skills including psychology, communication, multicultural interaction, ethics, and professionalism.

What can you do with this training?

You can work well paying jobs such as:

Dental administrative positions, dental sales positions, dental assistant positions in various specialities including: orthodontic, periodontal, prosthodontal, endodontic, pediatrics,

Potential Certifications

  • Radiography Upon outside source Testing (DANB or exam provided by various universities)

  • Infection Control Upon outside source Testing (DANB)

  • Completion of Program Upon Graduation

  • CPR Certification


Training Needed

  • Completion of Required Clinical Hours

  • Hold CPR Certification

  • Apply to the Massachusettes Boatrd of Registration In Dentistry

  • Take and pass the MA Board’s ethics and jurisprudence exam

After High School Success

Students can apply for dental assisting jobs and work as such, or apply knowledges learned to attend college and pursue professional high paying careers paths such as dental hygienist, and dentist. As well students have an entrepreneurial path in with permitted cosmetic procedures including teeth whitening, tooth gems and more to come!




Meet the Instructors

Mrs. Barber

Vernae Is a Certified dental assistant and a mother. She has been in the dental field for 15 years . She loves to learn and teach what she learns. She is a hard worker and caring woman of God. She is funny and will love to be in a movie one day.

Miss. Garcia

Miss Garcia is a Southeastern Voc. Graduate of the Dental Assisting program who has had 5 years of dental assisting experience. Her goal is to provide the best education and support she can for students to not only become successful dental assistants but world class workers.
