What is Cosmetology?

Cosmetology is the study of hair, skin, and nails. If you are interested in any aspects of the beauty industry, cosmetology is the way to go! We learn a wide range of skills to master the art of beautifying the hair, skin, an nails. Not only do we make you look good but we make you feel even better!

What can you do with this training?

Cosmetologist
Receptionist
Salon manager
Salon owner
Specialist in color, cutting, ect.

Potential License

Upon senior year students will obtain 900 hours towards the 1000 hours needed to sit for their State Board test.

Training Needed

Students will be broken down into two categories; under 500 hours and over 500 hours

Under 500: Wet styling, shampooing, manicuring, facials, perm wrapping, makeup application, braiding, updos.

Over 500: Hair cutting, hair coloring, perming, chemical relaxing, hair removal (waxing)

After High School Success

To finish the remaining hours needed for the State Board, students will attend the STI cosmetology night program. Upon meeting the 1000 hours needed the students will then qualify to sit for their State Board license.

After SOAR Completion Success Paths

After completion of the SOAR program students will be well on their way to obtaining a Massachusetts State Board of Cosmetology license. This program gives a huge leap into the education needed to further your career as a successful Cosmetologist.

I'm a Cosmetology Instructor here at South Eastern and a Master Stylist at 18/8 Fine Men's Salon. I have over a decade of experience and absolutely love everything cosmo related! I enjoy teaching from my experience and technical skills to create educated and talented future professionals.
