Sequoia Drama is a comprehensive theatre program.
There are Drama Classes students may elect to take: Drama I, Drama II, Drama III, and Stagecraft. The courses count as Visual & Performing Arts Electives, and students are required to take 1 year of a VPA elective in order to graduate. They also meet UC/CSU Visual & Performing Arts entrance requirements. The classes have a live showcase at the end of the year. There are no audition requirements to be in the class; talk to your counselor if you are interested.
There are two after-school, extracurricular productions per year: the Fall Musical and the Spring Play. Students may audition to perform in these productions or apply to be part of the technical crew. These productions are open to any student at Sequoia; you do not need to be a student in drama class in order to participate.
There is also a Drama Club, which meets during the school day and organizes drama-related activities for students. They host casual and student-run performances throughout the year, including the Drama Club Original Production, which is a student-written, student-directed, and student-produced show. The club is open to any student at Sequoia.
