This entry won the Superior ranking for the JEA Literary Magazine: Illustration contest. The prompt was to create an illustration to showcase the poem that was given, and this was my interpretation of it.

This feature photo for an article done by my friend and classmate Emi Sim was a lot of fun to create! The Roblox easter eggs and references jumping out of the screen are meant to represent how people were able to make a living with their games, therefore transferring success in the digital world into the real world.

This feature photo for an article done by my friend and classmate Emma Goldman incorporates a lot of deep warm tones and soft coloring to depict the down-to-earth, comforting topic discussed in the article: coffee! This also matched her article as it was specifically about coffee sustainability.

This was a quick feature photo done for my friend and classmate Lara Ibasco's breaking news article! It was meant to emphasize the dangers of a power outage.

[Photo] Opinion: California needs to prioritize rehabilitation in its prisons

This feature photo for my friend and classmate Kiana Chen's opinion article was a little bit challenging to make because I had to experiment with the color combo I was given: red and blue. I used the two colors to draw attention to the window, symbolizing the opportunities mentioned in the article.

[Photo] Opinion: Keeping animals in zoos is unethical

This feature photo was for my friend and classmate Valerie Pilipenko. Her article is about how many zoos have false advertising about their institutions being ethical, while the reality is that this is far from the case. With that in mind, I tried my best to emphasize this contrast through the use of color and symbols.

[Photo] Opinion: Americans should take more vacations

This feature photo was also done for Valerie Pilipenko. This article also dealt with the contrast between perception and reality; however, this time it was about the American Dream. I tried to convey this by creating a welcoming background with a more distressed foreground.
