About me
Hi. My name is Junho Lee and this is for my fifth grade exhibition. I have a strong intrest in classical music and I enjoy playing the violin. I strongly believe everyone can use music to help them in many different ways. This is exactly the reason why I have made this website; to help you with your life.
There are many ways on how to exercise your brain. You can solve math problems or play sports. You can also work with others. However, listening to music is a very effective, fun, and useful way to exercise your brain. When music goes to your brain, the music vibrations tickle your eardrums. Then, it transmits an electric signal to the nerve stem. This is how we hear music! According to Hopskin’s Medicine, “Music is structural, mathematical, and architectural. It’s based on relationships between one note and the next. You may not be aware of it, but your brain has a lot of computing and making sense of it.” This means that music makes your brain work a lot, which is true. Listening to happy music usually brings back old memories and makes you happy. It can also impact you physically and it makes you healthy. It can also make you recover from diseases such as Alzheimer's disease or strokes. Finally, music can be really useful for scary or hard situations. It can make you less distressed, reduce anxiety, blood pressure, make you happy, and make you hurt less. Learning an instrument can also help. Learning an instrument or singing can also improve your attention, memory, mood, abilities, and life!
Music is essential to us and to the world. It can change our mood from a bad day to a good day and make us jump around in a couple of seconds. For example, we use music to give us motivation at the gym. Another example is when movie directors use music to make you have the same emotions of the character in the movie. If the character is feeling sad emotions, the background music is sad. This shows that music is powerful and can impact our mood deeply. Happy lively music makes our brain release chemicals such as dopamine and serotonin to be happy while calming music makes us calm and relaxes our body. Being happy makes you have closer relationships with family and friends, and have better health. Music is a great tool to use to make your mind better. It can lower stress levels and blood pressure. It can also boost motivation and can help us calm down. Thus, using music can help us change our mood.
This survey was on my class, 5M, to gather information about them and their thoughts on music. 66.7% of the people liste to music often, which is great. However, people listen to hip-hop the most, which means they like being energized. The fact that they enjoy listening to music is great but there are other ways to make their lives even better. Studies show that classical music can help you in more and diverse ways. Also, in the survey people answered that music helps them study, do chores, calm down, and sleep. Reasarch shows that this all true. This proves that music does improve your well being and we cannot live without it.
