Greetings, most esteemed delegates,
My name is Joonmo Ahn—a junior at Seoul International School—and it is my utmost privilege to serve as your president of ECOSOC in Horizon MUN. During the conference, I will be working in close collaboration with my Assistant President Beverly Kim, and Deputy Assistant President Kadyn Jung to ensure our committee’s debates are fruitful and friendships long-lasting.
The two rigorously chosen agendas are the following: “Addressing the impact on women’s rights from current legislative restrictions present in Afghanistan” and “Addressing the critical issue of the Yemen humanitarian crisis and its legislative impacts in the wider region.”
In accordance with Horizon MUN’s theme of “Navigating The Frontiers of a New Digital Era and Forging New Horizons,” I hope and highly encourage every delegate to seek compromise over dominance, and alliances over conflict. Let us go one step further from the battlefield MUN is known for to a committee that fosters growth and reconciliation.
That being said, I’m extremely excited to meet you all and foster unforgettable experiences. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or suggestions. Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Joonmo Ahn
President of ECOSOC
