Regalia and Announcements

Academic Regalia

Please skip this section if you graduated in December 2024.

For those who selected to participate in the commencement ceremony:

VWU Students - You will order your regalia through VWU. 

If you RSVP'd "yes" to attend our ceremony, you will be sent instructions to your sentara.edu email, including the link to the submission site.

Your regalia package includes your gown, hood, cap, and tassel. Regalia packages will ship directly to the college. The fee for regalia is included in your graduation fee, which was paid at the beginning of Spring 2025.

If you are member of the military or a veteran, SCOPE, SNSA, or Sigma Theta Tau, please see the Dress Code & Accessories Info page for cord information.

The deadline to order is March 15, 2025. There are absolutely NO exceptions.

Academic Regalia and SCOPE/Military Cord Pick Up

When regalia is ready for pick up, we will notify you via your college email. You do not need to turn in your student ID badge to pick up your regalia. 

NOTE: If you would like another person to pick up your items for you, please email their name to registrar@sentara.edu. Unless they are a fellow student, they will need to provide photo ID. 

Announcement Ordering

Graduates can order their announcements through Balfour and have them shipped right to their home. Etiquette suggests that you ensure announcements arrive to your family and friends at least two weeks prior to the ceremony (which falls around May 3rd). 

Important Note: Announcements are not an entry ticket into the ceremony.

NOTE:  Announcements are not included in your graduation fee and will not be supplied by the college. They must be paid for separately through Balfour.
